Here's how to activate it in 5381 and 5365 :) :

-1. Boot into Vista

-2. Once it's started, press "Win+R" to open the "Run" dialog, and type in "msconfig" as in the picture:

Number of downloads: 513

-3. Once it's opened, swith to "Boot" and make a tick to "No GUI Boot" also as in the picture:

Number of downloads: 419

-4. Click on "Apply" and "OK" and reboot your PC

If you have done anything right you should see Vista's new Bootscreen:

Quick question, since I don't remember seeing this option before in XP's MSConfig Boot.ini Editor: What happens when you choose the option "Base Video"? I might try it in a while... It is in XP.

Quote

/basevideo
The /basevideo switch forces the system into standard 640x480 16-color VGA mode by using a video driver that is compatible with any video adapter. This switch permits the system to load if you selected the wrong video resolution or refresh rate. Use this switch in conjunction with the /sos switch. If you install a new video driver, and it does not work correctly, you can use this parameter to start the operating system. You can then remove, update, or roll back the problem video driver.

Is the Aurora moving or is it a static image?

I believe its static, since it looks to be the same as the one seen when you hibernate and then resume. (I can vouch for the hibernate resume image being static.)

I'm going to reboot now, with that "Base Video" option checked....and see what happens with that.

[nvm - see above edited post]

^^ No "GUI" means no Graphical User Interface - so the boot screen won't show, although I can't remember off hand whether anything at all shows...or if its just a blank screen.
