I just finished changing to the dark side and it looks great but one minor problem happened, my clock and battery percentage/time is still in dark lettering (battery logo is white). I've noticed in some pictures the time is in white color. Anyone know what the issue might be?

thanks

for the clock. your best bet is to rock iStat menu's.
and for the battery percentage, from what I've read, it's a lame unsolvable one.
just like my iChat icon.

FINAL UPDATE

This will be my final update. (i think B) )

I finally downloaded ThemePark 4 myself, and thought it would going to be complicated to change the SArtFile.bin, but it was realy easy!
I took the original file, just to be sure it didn't contain some unwanted changes that someone else had made.
So...

My final release:
- A gradient transparent black menubar. (this means that the menubar is a bit darker on the bottom than on the top). The menubar is quite transparent. The reason why I made it this way, is that if you have a bright background wallpaper, a realy dark black menubar doesn't look that good (in my opinion). The way it is now, it is realy dark if you have a dark wallpaper, and a more transparent if you have a bright wallpaper.
- White menubar text. No other changes (no crazy looking scrollbars or progressbars, like other releases)
- A nice white apple icon in top left corner.
- White menubar icons, included modified airport icon (with vertical blocks instead of waves). The original wave icon is also included (white version). Its in the zip package with the other icons, named "Airport (signal waves)". Just rename it to "Airport" and overwrite the block icon.
- It also includes an inverted iChat menubar icon, whitch Alex MacK requested earlier. We have not found the reason why this icon won't work. If you find a solution for this problem, please let us know.
- Readme file with Mitch's original tutorial.

So here is the FINAL DOWNLOAD

Current screen:
http://img11.imagesh...39/screensn.png

(Now that i know how to change the SArtFile.bin file in ThemePark i can take som requests if you want a special look for your menubar -crazy pink color or something like that :P )

Best of luck to yah all!
-Kris

Hey, so I tried out the airport icon, incase you made any changes (I noticed an issue with the previous one just the other day) but when you select your wi-fi it does the loady bit. Where it flashes a single bar on each level. I don't know which menu icons that would be, but it shows up with the "wave style" and in black. just an fyi.

also, do you know how to change the menu items selected to black instead of graphite/blue?

I'm also going to try out this much lighter menu bar for a full day or two. I have mixed feelings so far.

But I am pleased to see the white apple back!

Hi!

Sorry for late answer.
Yeah i know about the former airport icon. You ment the icon for the dropdown menu, right? Been fixed in the last release.

About the highlight color. I only know how to change the SArtFile.bin, i thing the highlight stuff is in Extras2. I know some of the releases in this thread has some changes to the highlighting. See if you find one that fits your needs.

Good luck

Hey is there a way to incorporate this guys black spotlight drop down into everything??

Hi!

Have you downloaded my "Final Release" on page 2?

If so, and you are sure you did everything right. Right click on the desktop, go to Change Desktop Background and toggle the trancelucent menubar option on or off. Restart.

Fixed?

Hi!

Earlier i thought that this changes where made in the Extras2.rsrc file (whitch i don't know how to edit).

I discovered that these changes are made in SArtFile.bin, and so here it is. This is the same "black" SArtFile which i have used in my "Final Release" on page 2. The changes is that every contextual menu in os x now have black as the selection color.
I haven't tested i alot, so if you find some weird stuff going on, let me know.

Hope you enjoy it!

took me a few minutes to re-alize the change was to the Blue appearance setting rather than the graphite.
I'll play around with it and let you know if I find anything weird. But it looks sharp from what I've seen thus far.

Hey guys... thanks for all the help and the great release. Just had a couple questions - wanted to ask before I go through the trouble of trying to figure it out myself ;)

1. Where is the "right side of the menubar" color information stored? Or, is it stored on a per-app basis? By that I mean, is there a way to edit Extras2 or SArtFile in order to change the font color of applications like date&time and googlenotifier? Right now, I am using iStatMenus for the date and time, but would like to change the default color in order to 1 - not have to use iStatMenus as a workaround and 2 - have new applications added to the menubar use white as the default text color (eg right now I can't see the numbed of new emails in googlenotifier because the text color is black).

2. How about changing the default color of the drop down menus? Maybe to something a little more consistent with the "dark" theme, like the new color scheme of the dock menu.

I know those are pretty difficult to do, but was hoping maybe someone on the boards here had taken a look and could guide me in the right direction. Thanks for all the help :)

Oh, my desktop:

Welcome to the forum Dan01!
Thanks for sharing your wallpaper, nice one!

1. Requests for changing the textcolor for menubar icons (right corner), is probably the most asked-not resolved question around here. Sorry but as far as i know (and this request has been around for a long time) there is no known solution to this problem. The only thing to do is what you've already done (thats what i do too): use istat menu for the clock, and for the google notifier, you can change the preferences to not show email count.

(if you REALY need the text to be white, maybe some guys in the forum over at macthemes can help you. as i said, i don't think there's a fix, but it might be worth a try. let us know if you find something.)

2. I think your request for color changes to the dropdown has already been done. Two posts earlier than yours, I released an Extras2.rcrs with black dropdown menus. Have you tried that? Was that what you had in mind?

Best of luck!

Hey Kris - thanks for all the help! As far as the two issues are concerned:

1. Haha I figured people had asked for it before. Oh well - ill do a little more searching and see if anyone has an answer. If they do, ill let you guys know :)

2. As soon as I saw you had posted the black menu theme, I downloaded it and am using it right now. It's great btw :) My question was more about the dropdown menus themselves though. Right now, the highlight on dropdown menus is black, but the menus themselves are still the default white. Ill attach a picture to show you what I mean.

My current menu color:

Type of menu I am looking for (dock default in snow leopard):

Gah! That would be so epic! I'm not sure if it will have the same hud result.
I personally haven't played with that possibility.
I've been changing some other items to hud, but it's been sketchy.
You can all check out some of the stuff at your own risk... HUD your mac
May I just recommend you seriously back up everything you're going to change
I had the pleasure of re-installing my os. good times.
This site also has some codes for writing HUD items.
It may help if someone really wants hud menus...
HUD kit

Hope this all goes well. I'm off to OZ for a long time on Saturday,
so if I can't follow how this turns out, I'm hoping for some fantastic
results when I get back!

Hello,

I've been following this topic and decided to finally use the final release in page 2.

However, I still have problems with it:
with a plain white wallpaper it looks just grey :

and with a black one really too black:

Is there a way to get the menu bar darker and less translucent?

Is there a way as well to get the hands of the time machine icon to be white?

Thanks a lot!

Unfortunately, you're going to get that on white wallpapers, your bar is translucent, perhaps turning off menu bar transparency will give you better results?

I can make a dark version of the menubar, upload it, and you can see if it works
